Summer 2023 Real Triumphs Graduate

Degree: Bachelor of Science in Public Relations, Advertising and Applied Communications

College: College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts

Born and raised in Miami, Juliana Echavarria has found the intersection of her passion for creativity, communication, and technology. As Miami becomes a tech epicenter in the United States, Juliana is positioning herself to be a leader and an advocate for diversity and representation in the emerging technology industry.

During her junior year at FIU, she founded and was the president of FIU’s first Blockchain student organization (Blockchain at FIU) – dedicated to students interested in the promotion, education, and innovation in Blockchain technology. Within one year, the organization’s membership grew to over 200 students with a social impact on more than 1,000 users.

Juliana continued to grow in her passion for technology and spearheaded the inaugural Women in Technology Conference (WITCON) held in Spring 2023, partnering with other STEM organizations on campus. Her hope was to promote diversity and gender equity in STEM while inspiring women to pursue their interest in technology.

Through her dedication and drive, Juliana has established her voice within the tech community. She has been invited to speak and share her Blockchain expertise (representing the student organization) at various conferences such as Web3 summits and Women in Web3 conferences, magazines, events, and podcasts. Notably, she was honored to speak on a panel on solution impact projects during Miami NFT Week.

After graduating, Juliana plans to launch her own mental health tech company that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) technology for mental health counseling. Long term, she hopes to develop a 24/7 secure and private platform for individuals to receive any mental health care they need. She will also continue her marketing and communication passions as a marketing associate at Suntuity Renewables – a renewable energy company.
