Commencement takes place 3 times a year at the end of the Spring, Fall and Summer semesters on the Modesto Maidique Campus (MMC).
Students are assigned to commencement ceremonies by their graduating school or college. You may not choose which ceremony you want to participate in. If you registered for commencement on time, your ceremony will take place at the end of the current semester.
We want to make sure that your commencement day is a special day for you and your loved ones. To accommodate as many of our graduates' guests as possible at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center, we schedule commencement ceremonies after the period to apply for graduation has closed and the numbers have been tabulated for each college and school. Please note that the schedule might change due to unforeseen circumstances.
FERPA Notice For Graduating Students
Students who have a FERPA restriction on their records will be excluded from the Commencement Booklet and any Virtual Commencement Ceremonies. Should you wish to be included, you must provide consent in writing to the Office of the Registrar, at least 3 weeks prior to the last day to apply for graduation for the term. You may also remove your FERPA restriction on-line through your MyFIU account by the deadline to apply for graduation for the term.
Please visit the FIU FERPA website for more information.
