After meeting the demands of motherhood and a challenging career in corporate America, a passion for leadership and incomparable organizational skills left Legna Arencibia searching for new opportunities.

She joined the online MBA program at FIU Business while working full-time as an IT Business Analysis Center of Excellence Lead for a software company in Weston, FL. Meanwhile, while supporting her two children with the help of her husband, she continued building her own business, Adam & Brooke, an events management company named after her kids.

But the challenges kept coming, with major changes at her employer.

In 2022, Legna joined automotive company JM Family Enterprises as Lead Business Process Transformation Analyst, leading process analysis in a multi-million-dollar digital transformation program. All the while, she has worked tirelessly, making sacrifices to meet academic demands and earning a 4.0 GPA.

“I feel FIU has been my escape because I have been able to apply myself in the MBA program, network and, on top of that, feel seen, valued and recognized,” Arencibia said. “FIU gave me something I had been missing for a while.”
