Miranda Ghirimoldi

Spring 2023 Real Triumphs Graduate

Degree: M.S. in Hospitality & Tourism Management

School: Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management

Miranda Ghirimoldi is a student leader who puts hard work into making the seemingly impossible come true. At a time when events were at a standstill because of the COVID-19 pandemic and despite a slow comeback after it, her entrepreneurial vision led to the creation of the first-ever student club focused on the events industry called Back of House (BOH). This Spring, the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management student graduates with a 4.0 GPA and a Master of Science in Hospitality Management with a specialty in mega and large-scale events.

Miranda is an international student from Argentina and the current Back of House president. The student organization’s mission is to provide as many opportunities as possible to let students experience the events industry and network with professionals. She has grown the club to 130 members, opening the door for them to both volunteer and gain employment at local and nationally-known events.

While studying, Miranda has built her own resume while helping others. She has worked two Super Bowls, including Super Bowl LIV in Los Angeles and Super Bowl LVI in Phoenix. For the past two years, she has also led a team of students at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival® and was recognized for it in 2022, when she won the Lee Brian Schrager Leadership Award. In addition, she identified and secured employment for her fellow students at Ultra Music Festival and on the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.

Miranda, who moved to Miami to complete the FIU Master’s program, plans to stay in the city and work as many events as possible across the United States. She hopes to one day own her own business and lead her own team in the events industry.
