Angela Hogan discovered her passion for civil and environmental engineering and making a positive impact on human lives through FIU student organizations. She held 11 leadership positions in student organizations. She is most proud of reinstating an FIU chapter of Engineers Without Borders, a nonprofit organization that helps communities meet their basic human needs. As president, Angela visited El Chimborazo, a rural community located in Jinotega, Nicaragua with a population of about 200 people. She conducted water quality testing in contaminated water in the village and is analyzing solutions for future students of the organization to implement in El Chimborazo. Angela also interned at Gannett Fleming and BCC Engineering. Upon graduation, Angela will be a full-time drainage engineer at BCC Engineering.
