Claudia Montalvo
Degree: Bachelor of Arts in Music Education
College: College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts
Claudia Montalvo’s love for the arts was evident from a young age. She recorded her first cover at four years old and continued to grow her knowledge of the performing arts through the years. Starting with learning the piano and moving to vocal performance in classical music and jazz, she found her artistic identity and thrived in every endeavor she pursued.
By the time she graduated high school, she was the assistant director on her first album with Peer Music and received praise for her expertise from the musicians and the music director.
During her time at FIU, Claudia continued to sharpen her skills - working within the Miami Dade County Auditorium and Centro Cultural Español as a performer, stage manager, and assistant director for many shows, workshops, and classes. She consistently posts about her life and journey on social media and has amassed a 14k+ following across platforms. This year alone she participated in recording two albums both as a pianist and a singer. Currently, she is a part of the prestigious GrammyU Mentorship Program, which provides mentorship for emerging music industry professionals through the Recording Academy.
Upon graduating, she plans to use her degree to create musical artistic work in English and Spanish for children and publish her own music book. In addition, she will be working on releasing her first solo album of original songs.
