Angelica Maria Guardia Sinclair
Degree: Master of Business Administration
College/School: College of Business
Angelica Maria Guardia Sinclair paused her career in public relations and corporate communications to work on her Master’s degree in Business Administration. Soon after starting at FIU, Angelica was named as class representative of the 48 cohorts who would be taking this two-year program together. Enthusiastic and talented, she became deeply involved in the well-being of her classmates, organized team-building activities, and made sure her group knew about opportunities on campus. These past two semesters, she planned get-togethers so her classmates could network with four other cohort groups in the College of Business.
While earning a 3.85 GPA, Angelica also became involved with the National Society of Hispanic MBAs. Because of her academic standing, leadership and career goals, she was given a scholarship by the organization to attend their national conference in Philadelphia.
In 2013 Angelica became the youngest board member — serving as Vice President of Communications and Outreach — on the U.S. National Committee for U.N. Women. She still holds office and has assisted in creating a student chapter of that organization on FIU’s campus.
Also while working on her degree, Angelica leveraged her past business experience and her new skills to consult with start-ups and non-profits.
Angelica hopes to secure a position with Jarden Corporation, a consumer products company with over 120 powerful brands, where she recently completed an internship. After gaining more experience in digital marketing and e-commerce, Angelica would like to head up her own consulting company.
