Nuket Serin

Degree: PhD in Business Administration, Marketing

School: Chapman Graduate School of Business

College: College of Business

Ever since Nuket Serin was a child in Turkey, she dreamed of becoming a teacher, but it was not until her graduate studies that she found a passion for marketing.

Nuket went on to earn a master’s degree in business administration with a marketing focus at Cukurova University in Adana, Turkey. She decided to come to the United States because she considered it “the center of marketing in the world,” and earned another master’s degree in marketing from the University of South Florida. Nuket thrived and published several papers in esteemed marketing journals on consumer behavior. She has had papers accepted at 32 prestigious national and international conferences. Last year, Nuket was awarded the FIU Outstanding Graduate Scholar Award for her teaching, scholarship, and leadership efforts.

Nuket served as vice-chair of content management for AMA DocSig and as treasurer and vice president of the FIU Business Doctoral Student Association, helping support FIU’s international doctoral students.

In August, Nuket is off to her next adventure as an assistant professor of marketing at Bellarmine University in Kentucky.
