Argenis Bouza

Degree: Bachelor of Business Administration

College/School: College of Business

Argenis Bouza works hard, not only toward his own success, but to empower others to achieve things beyond what they can see. He was a high school junior with a 1.8 GPA when he decided to change his life and focus on academic success. By graduation, he boosted his GPA to 2.8 and went on to complete an associate degree at Miami-Dade College. When he entered FIU’s College of Business, he discovered a passion for finance, and his life changed again.

He rose to president of the Phoenician Investment Fund, helped grow the organization from 50 to 170 members, and focused on developing freshmen and sophomores into young professionals through a new initiative. Argenis founded PIF JumpStart, a competitive, semester-long program that gives 10 freshmen who have overcome adversity the tools and opportunities to build a powerful, sustainable professional network. Now in its second year, PIF Jumpstart has sent its first cohort of students to internships at Bank of America, JP Morgan, Amazon, and others. Argenis also led a successful team to the Quinnipiac GAME Forum in New York and the National Investment Banking Competition in Vancouver, Canada, and co-founded a fixed income fund as part of the Student Managed Investment Fund.

Last summer, Argenis interned on Wall Street for JP Morgan, where he worked with ultra high net worth clients. After graduation, he will be returning to JP Morgan full-time where he will be working within the Asset Management division of the bank in their hedge fund solutions team, and will become one of 12 individuals who manage an asset pool of $14 billion.
