Daniella Bernasconi

Degree: Bachelor in Marketing; Bachelor in International Business

College/School: Landon Undergraduate School of Business College of Business

Business has always been on Daniella’s mind. Her father is an entrepreneur in their native Peru and even as a little girl she knew she wanted to follow in his footsteps.

Marketing caught Daniella’s attention as an opportunity to explore her creative side. Today, she is confident that being Hispanic will open new opportunities in an international business career. On the marketing front, Daniella wants to work on campaigns to promote and bring awareness to social issues around the world.

Born and raised in Lima, Daniella moved to Miami when she was 13. Adapting to a new country, with a different culture and language, wasn’t easy. She recalls having to work harder than her classmates to succeed, get good grades and get into college.

Daniella is the first in her family to graduate from a U.S. university. She attributes part of her success to a family that pushed and challenged her to be the best.

At FIU, Daniella is part of the Order of Omega and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies. In September she was recognized by the National Society of Hispanic MBAs as an Ignite Scholar, a program that recognizes outstanding undergraduate students. Daniella also was executive director of Global Community Engagement and traveled to the Dominican Republic for three years to help disadvantaged children.

This summer, Daniella began a Market Development internship at MasterCard’s Latin America and Caribbean headquarters and is hoping to remain full-time at MasterCard upon graduation.
